FIXTURES
Saturday 13 July home to Wealdstone Friendly kick off 3.00pm.

For this game online tickets will be £5 for both adults and concessions as we look to encourage supporters to make use of our ticketing system. Prices on the day will be £8 for adults and £6 for concessions so this is a big incentive for adults in particular to save £3 by buying tickets online. Also, those attending this Wealdstone fixture will only pay half price (via the token system) for the first pint purchased at the Cider & Cheese Festival, so please do come along to both.

A Development side will play Barton Rovers at The Arena on Saturday 13 July kick off 12.30pm.

There are no midweek friendlies and the players will train on Tuesday and Thursday.

The league fixtures for the coming season were released on Friday morning and can be found by clicking here. We will enter the FA Cup on Saturday 7 September and the FA Trophy on Saturday 26 October.

HITCHIN VS ARSENAL XI
As stated last week there has been a lot of interest in this friendly which takes place on Saturday 27 July at 3.00pm. Compared with last summer’s friendly vs Luton Town, where over 1,000 fans attended, we’ve so far sold triple the number of online tickets as we did for that one, so it’s proving incredibly popular with the local public and will be a fantastic day out. You can buy online with adult tickets £9, concessions £5 and teenagers £2. Click here to purchase yours.

NEW SIGNINGS
Four further players have signed on for the coming season-Jay Dowie, Kieran Barnes, Max Ryan and Lewis Barker. The full story is on the club website.

CIDER AND CHEESE FESTIVAL
Our Canary Club bar will once again be hosting the wonderful Cider and Cheese Festival, opening today (Friday 12th) at 2pm and continuing tomorrow, kindly sponsored by Internet Services & Communications Provider IDNet.

It will be FREE entry to all with a wonderful selection of Ciders and Cheese, as well as some real ale for those that are looking for something different. It will still be the same system of purchasing the drink as last year, via the token card system which can be purchased within the hall.

The Little Deli from Hermitage Road, Hitchin will also be in attendance to meet your hunger pangs. Louise has some beautiful Cheese on offer, plus we also hope to offer some locally homemade Scotch Eggs and Sausage Rolls.

Friday Night kicks off at 5pm with the fantastic Sandy Ukulele Band who were great fun last year, followed by a Wurzel tribute band, The Twerzels.

Saturday will see a huge array of local talent. The wonderful Glee Club Choir will start at 2pm followed by two bands which have been formed by local school boys. The event will also feature The Lucky Men, Shaun Clark, Elliot Rose and The Hot Tub Steps. All of these local talent play original and cover music including The Beatles, Maroon 5, Bowie, Paul Weller, Tina Turner, The Ramones and more. They have all kindly offered their professional services for the Club and will showcase their music, we are thrilled to be able to welcome them all.

The volunteers have really gone all out this year to make it a musical and tasting success, so we hope to see many people from the local community turn out to show their support. The Saturday is also the day we welcome Wealdstone to Top Field for a pre-season friendly, so we look forward to welcoming those attending the match into this event too.

Opening times on both days will be 2-11pm.

Thanks to Lyndhurst Financial Management of Bridge Street who have covered the cost of the programme print.

FA YOUTH CUP DRAW
Away to Netherton United in the Youth Cup Preliminary Round. Winner hosts Eynesbury Rovers in the First Round Qualifying.

MANAGER’S NOTES WITH MARK BURKE
I realised that Stevenage would be a very difficult game on Wednesday. They are a very good side and only just missed out on the play-offs last season. They were two weeks ahead of us in their pre-season preparations and in contrast we had completed just four sessions which concentrated solely on fitness and no work had been put in to team shape and tactics.

With this in mind I was pleased with a number of the performances. Despite being under pressure we did not crumble and fought to the end.

I would like to thank Stevenage for sending a team to Top Field. I thought the playing surface was excellent and it was a tribute to the work that Steve Barker and his ground staff have put in.

It was encouraging to see such a healthy attendance and thank you to everyone who came along and created a really good atmosphere.
