Gordon Haskell @ The Market Theatre, Wed 20th September
Don’t miss the jazz / blues legend Gordon Haskell as he performs his hit songs at The Market Theatre this coming Wednesday!
In his 70th year, Gordon Haskell returns to theatre audiences with some of his biggest hits and he will be performing this Wednesday 20th at The Market Theatre in Hitchin. Fans can expect to hear music from his 2005 album 'Harry's Bar', including the 400,000 selling hit How Wonderful You Are, as well as other songs both old and new.
This English musician and songwriter, originally from Dorset, has lived one of the most interesting musical pasts; sharing a flat with Jimi Hendrix in London, playing in the psychedelic pop band Fleur De Lys, being a bassist and vocalist in King Crimson, and getting signed by the same record label as Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin.
Haskell’s first debut album as a solo artist, ‘Sail in My Boat’, did not chart. However, it remains as a rare collectible today, with prices topping £125 in the Rare Record Price Guide. He has released numerous albums since, including ‘It Is and It Isn't’, ‘Hambledon Hill’, ‘Butterfly in China’, ‘All In The Scheme Of Things’, ‘The Lady Wants To Know’, 'Harry's Bar', and his most recent album ‘One Day Soon’.
The show on Wednesday is from 8:00pm to 10:00pm and tickets are £20.00.
